You can have your cake in a restaurant and still eat sort of healthy. Or an ice cream sundae.
So says Men’s Health editor-in-chief David Zinczenko, the author of the bestselling “Eat This Not That” books.
Appearing on “Today” over the weekend, Zinczenko dished on sinful restaurant desserts and their healthier alternatives by comparing the calories and fat in menu items from chain favorites Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday and Red Lobster.
“You can lose weight while indulging wisely,” he explained to “Today” weekend host Lester Holt.

– Not That: Zeppoli with Chocolate Sauce (1,130 calories, 37.5g fat, 175g carbohydrates)

The best-selling “Eat This Not That” series of books was birthed from a magazine column written by Zinczenko and Matt Goulding for Men’s Health. The point was to help Americans make healthier food choices at their favorite restaurants and the series has proved an instant hit upon its debut in 2007. As of 2010, the franchise has sold more than 6 million copies.
