Chris Brown Accused of Robbing a Fan

Chris Brown may like to spend his free lately mouthing off to critics on Twitter, but as time goes by, it becomes more and more apparent that the violence-prone pop star’s single biggest enemy is himself.

While coasting on a mini-wave of positive press following the release of two collaborative tracks with former flame Rihanna, Brown has once again managed to sour the moment by letting his anger get the best of him – and it could mean even more legal trouble.

According to CBS Miami, the singer is facing a robbery accusation following an early-morning altercation outside a Miami Beach nightclub. Brown and rapper Tyga were exiting the Cameo club on February 19 when the singer allegedly stole a fan’s iPhone and sped off in his car.

Notorious Celebrity Freakouts

According to a police report, the fan, Shanae Spann, had followed Brown out of the side door of the club and attempted to snap a picture of him as he departed in his Bentley. Spann told police Brown became enraged upon seeing her, reached through his window and snatched the $500 white iPhone 4S out of her hands. He then reportedly yelled, “B****, you ain’t going to put that on no website,” rolled up his window and drove off.

Police responded to complaints shortly before 5 a.m. They listed the offense as a “robbery by sudden snatching,” and claimed the incident would be further investigated.

The alleged robbery took place one day before Brown and Rihanna released a pair of collaborative remixes that, in combination with Brown’s return to the Grammy stage, seemed to sway public perception at least slightly in his favor. The singer continues to struggle to revive his career following a string of violent incidents that included his 2009 assault of Rihanna, his last year’s window-smashing tantrum on the set of “Good Morning America” and repeated outbursts and threats issued via his Twitter account.
