The mother of one of Justin Bieber’s fans is suing the pop star and his label, along with the concert promoter and arena where she recently attended his Portland, Oregon show.

According to TMZ, Stacey Wilson Betts took her daughter to the July 14 concert where she claims she was hit with a “sound blast” that permanently damaged her hearing.

In Betts’ lawsuit she claims Bieber made an already unbelievably loud concert even worse after climbing into a “heart-shaped aluminum/steel gondola” which made its way into the crowd.

She claims the singer “created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena. Then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion.”

It’s not unusual for a performer to ask fans to “make some noise,” but it seems Bieber’s hardware is what gave this mom a headache.

Betts blames the gondola for her injury, saying it became a “sound conductor creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both of my ears.”

She’s suing for $9.23 million in damages, claiming she’s now experiencing tinnitus—which causes a continuous pulsing, whooshing sound that makes sleep difficult—in addition to other hearing-related issues.

So far, there’s been no word from Bieber’s camp regarding the suit.
