A suburban Chicago woman is dealing with a different sort of “hair of the dog” after a drunken incident that police say led her to bite the family dog several times.
Authorities are charging Analise J. Garner, 19, with animal cruelty after she allegedly bit the family bulldog around 4 a.m. on April 26, according to the Northwest Herald.
Police report the incident unfolded after Garner’s mother confronted her for coming home intoxicated. Residents from the Lake in the Hills neighborhood called police after hearing screams.
Garner is also accused of biting and scratching her mother, the Northwest Herald reports.
Police said the dog only bit Garner back once during the melee.
“Police saw at least three bite marks on the dog,” Lake in the Hills Police Sgt. Mark Smith told the Northwest Herald. “The dog bit back and bit her on the left arm.”
The startled dog had wounds on its shoulder from Garner’s bites, police said.
The paper reports that the teenager was also charged with domestic battery, domestic battery of an assaulting and provoking nature and underage consumption of alcohol.
She is due in court May 23rd.
