Shopping at Pike Place is an awesome experience throughout the entire year, but Christmas at the market is a stellar event.  The merry lights and decor will get you into the holiday spirit as you shop artisan foods and unique gift items. Spend the late afternoon and early evening browsing the festive shops and stalls with your date, sampling foods and enjoying the jovial atmosphere.  If you have a smart phone and would like a bit of assistance with your market experience, there is a handy app called Edibly Pike Place that is extremely helpful in navigating the shops and buildings.

When your shopping is complete it is a short walk up to Upper Post Alley and in to Kell’s Restaurant & Pub for savory Irish cuisine and a foamy brew or two. Baked brie and fruit for a starter, followed by a shepherd’s pie or county down chicken smothered in a delicious bacon sauce make the perfect winter meal. Finish it off by sharing Kell’s own Irish Whiskey Cake for a decadent dessert.

A Night under the Big Top

Teatro ZinZanni
222 Mercer St.
Near the Seattle Center
Seattle, WA
(206) 802-0015

A night under the Belguim big top with fine cuisine, vaudeville and dazzling performances is an incredibly entertaining way to spend the evening. Teatro ZinZanni Seattle has several options available, but the most stellar is the three hour, five course-meal, dinner show.  The courses are incorporated into the performances and each show is unique, as the performers are extremely interactive with the audience and there is plenty of room for improvisation. Walking in the door, the experience is exceptional, fast-paced and highly entertaining. Guests are encouraged to gather in the lobby, mingle, enjoy cocktails and browse the boutique an hour before the cabaret begins.
