Jennifer Lopez rebounded quickly after her breakup with husband Marc Anthony and landed in the arms of boyfriend Casper Smart. But J.Lo’s manager Benny Medina isn’t seeing her relationship through rose-tinted glasses.
“The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having obsessive guys pursue her,” Lopez’s manager Benny Medina admitted to Vogue.
“The ease which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship,” he added.
But Lopez reportedly told Medina she is looking for “somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a [meaningful] way.”
The 42-year-old superstar initially received some criticism from the media about the 18-year age gap between her and her backup dancer Casper Smart, 24. However, the couple was quick to defend their relationship on Twitter. In January, Smart tweeted: “Age, status, n opinions of others are irrelevant. Our hearts are endless and our souls infinite.”
Lopez chimed in with a retweet that ended with: “Close your ears and open your hearts; Love and be happy.”
J.Lo explained to her manager: “It’s not even the age, Benny. It’s actually that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed. And I’m open!”
