Sylvester Stallone is speaking out on the tragic death of his oldest son, Sage Moonblood Stallone, who was found dead at his Hollywood home this past Friday.
“When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son’s memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha,” Stallone, 66, said in a statement to TMZ. “This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives.”
The circumstances surrounding 36-year-old Sage’s death remain unknown, but sources tell TMZ that his several beer cans and pill bottles littered the room where he was found.
A Los Angeles County Coroner spokesman told CNN that results from the autopsy, performed Sunday, could take as long as two months to come in.
In the meantime, Stallone is begging the media to stop “the speculation and questionable reporting.”
He added, “Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace.”
Sage, who made his acting debut alongside his father in 1990’s “Rocky V,” was reportedly set to marry his girlfriend in Las Vegas this weekend. His death is believed to be accidental.
