Bieber Angers Brits with Prince William Hair Diss

In an interview with the U.K.’s Rollacoaster magazine, teen pop sensation Justin Bieber wonders aloud why Prince William doesn’t do something about his visibly receding hairline, according to the Huffington Post.

Canadian-born Bieber may be a British subject, but he has no qualms about pointing out the shortcomings of the U.K. throne’s hair, er, heir apparent.

Bieber asks why William doesn’t just fix his hairline by popping a pill.

“I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia. I don’t know why he doesn’t just get those things, those products. You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over here?” Bieber asked the magazine.

British journalist Jessica Callahan takes exception to the famously-coiffed teen heartthrob’s diss.

“He needs to be swatted away,” she said. “Wills and Prince Harry may joke about William’s thinning hair, but that doesn’t mean a kid like Justin can come sauntering in and join in the joke.”

Agreed Nicole James, on music-television station Fuse’s website, “This situation is kind of like when you’re talking about your mom being crazy, and then your friend is like, ‘Oh, totally,’ and then you’re like, ‘Wait, are you calling my mom crazy?’ Off limits, bro.”

This is not the first time that Bieber has gotten himself into a bit of hot water for tossing off a remark, seemingly in jest.

In an interview for the August issue of Rolling Stone, Bieber mentioned that he thought that he was “part Indian” and thus entitled to free gas in his native Canada, a “misconception,” according to Toronto’s Globe and Mail newspaper, that has some of that country’s Aboriginal Peoples — who do not use the term “Indian” — up in arms.

“We have enough issues with racism and stereotyping,” said Dwight Dorey, the vice-chief of the national Congress of Aboriginal Peoples. “A young, high-profile entertainer like Justin has a huge following. He has a major impact on young people. That concerns me.”
