‘Rocky’ star Sylvester Stallone has suffered another personal loss. Stallone’s half-sister, Toni-Ann Filiti, died Sunday night at the age of 48 after a long fight with lung cancer, reported RadarOnline.com, on the heels of the death of his son Sage, 36, only last month.
Filiti had been battling Stage 4 lung cancer, according to the website, and had left the intensive care unit at UCLA Medical Center to move in with their mother Jackie Stallone for her final days.
“She passed away last night and it was somewhat expected,” a source close to the family told Radar. “After being in the ICU she decided she wanted to die in the house so she could spend time with her family.”
Stallone has been promoting his new film “The Expendables 2” while awaiting the results of his son Sage’s autopsy. He told ABC New’s Cecilia Vega on “Good Morning America” several weeks ago that that losing Sage had been ‘very tough’ for him, but that he was trying to keep busy in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Now, the Huffington Post is reporting that family tension could emerge in the aftermath. Filiti’s son and Stallone’s nephew, Edd Filiti, used Facebook to accuse the actor of neglecting Sage but later recanted.
