Kirstie Alley revealed more than expected in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant spilled the beans about an intense emotional relationship with Patrick Swayze, according to Us Weekly.
The 61-year-old admitted that she began a relationship with Swayze while they co-starred in 1985’s “North and Star.” The romantically infatuated co-stars were both married during this time. The “Cheers” alum admitted that there was an undeniable spark between the two.
Alley says that while she and Swayze never physically consummated their affair, she believes that “what we did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you’re married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It’s doubly bad.”
The confession must have come as a surprise to Patrick Swayze’s wife, Lisa Neimi. Lisa asked Kirstie to speak Swayze’s funeral in 2009. Kirstie is still friends with Lisa and isn’t sure if she knows about the relationship.
This isn’t the first time that Alley fell for a co-star. In an interview with Barbara Walters early this week, she admitted that John Travolta was, “the greatest love of my life.” She even contemplated marrying her “Look Who’s Talking” sidekick.
With Kirstie Alley falling head over heels for her co-workers, it’s no wonder the chemistry on the screen looks real.
