Tom Cruise was not home for the holidays. He was in Europe shooting the film “All You Need Is Kill.”
He did however manage to spend Thanksgiving with his daughter Suri in London. The 50-year-old actor sent a family member to pick up his youngest daughter from New York, according to Us Magazine.
People reports that Cruise has not seen six-year-old Suri in more than three months. The father-daughter duo were last together on Aug. 5 after a week-long vacation.
As for Tom Cruise’s ex-wife, Katie Holmes, she flew to Toledo, Ohio to be with her family. Holmes was granted custody of Suri after the couple’s split this summer, but Tom Cruise has contact with his daughter on a regular basis.
“He calls Suri every day, sometimes twice a day,” Bert Fields, Cruise’s lawyer, explained recently. “He loves Suri and is a constant presence in her life. As in the past, when he’s shooting in a foreign country, he has to rely on daily phone calls,” Fields continued.
Recently Suri and her dad made headlines when the “Mission Impossible” star filed a $50 million lawsuit against Life & Style magazine for claiming that Cruise abandoned his daughter.
After flying Suri from New York to London for Thanksgiving dinner, Cruise has a good shot at proving those negligence claims false.
