Jodie Foster acknowledged longtime friend Mel Gibson in her Golden Globe’s speech. “You know, you save me, too,” Foster declared as Gibson sat with her sons Charles, 14, and Kit, who is 12.

The rare public appearance of Foster’s two sons has sparked speculation in Hollywood that the “Braveheart’ star may be the father of the two boys.

New York Post correspondent Richard Johnson reports that by the end of the Globes ceremony, many in the room took note of a strong physical resemblance between Foster’s sons and Gibson.

Jodie Foster has never revealed the father of her two sons and claims that she will not tell them until they are 21, according to the New York Post.

“The kids looks like him (Gibson) but blonder,” a Globes attendee noted, Johnson reports.

Gibson and Foster have been friends since starring in “Maverick” in 1994. She recently directed Gibson in the film “The Beaver.” There is no denying that the two share a very special relationship. Foster contends, “He’s so incredibly loving and sensitive. I knew the minute I met him that I would love him the rest of my life.”

If Gibson is the biological father of the boys, it would bring his total number of offspring to ten. It would also explain Foster’s defense of the 57-year-old actor after his anti-Semitic rant in 2011 and alleged abusive treatment of ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

Another Foster confidante who sparked paternity chatter is Randy Stone, the openly gay casting director who died of heart disease in 2007. Stone’s mother, Rev. Beverly Bates, is convinced that her son fathered Charles and Kit. “He told me he had to sign documents. It was a secret he took to his grave,” Bates said.

Foster has never confirmed or denied the rumors about Stone.
