LeAnn Rimes is blaming her dentist for damaging her career. The work done by Dr. Duane C. McKay was so bad that the 30-year-old singer has decided to file a malpractice lawsuit, according to TMZ.

The “How Do I Live” singer has seen Dr. McKay for a period of three years for various dental work. According to her lawsuit, the dentist assured Rimes that upper front veneers and crowns would take care of pain that she was experiencing due to Temporomandibular Joint Disorder.

The work that was intended to relieve the pain did just the opposite, according to the lawsuit. Even more agony and bleeding were the result of the work, Rimes claims. In October, Rimes tweeted, “I feel like I got hit in my right side of my face with a baseball bat.” She also canceled a show that month due to a massive infection.

According to court documents, Rimes ended up needing additional surgeries to reverse the effects of the procedures by McKay. In total the singer was forced to undergo 9 root canals and bone grafting. A temporary bridge and physical therapy were required as well.

Rimes alleges ¬†that the work was so bad that her ability to perform has been hindered. The lawsuit claims she will have a “permanent cosmetic deficiency.”
