Sources say Demi Moore is finally striking back at ex Ashton Kutcher a year after the A-list couple split. The “Indecent Proposal” star is ready to file her own divorce papers, according to New York Post.
Kutcher filed for divorce in December, and Moore reportedly has been trying to reach a confidential settlement out of court since then. She allegedly has had a change of heart after talks stalled over financial terms of the split.
The New York Post source says that, “Ashton made a lot of money after marrying Demi — a lot more than she made — but despite him becoming just as famous through her, he believes he doesn’t owe her that much. She has had enough.”
Kutcher is the highest-paid actor in television. He earned $24 million last year for his role on “Two and a Half Men.” He has also raked in millions more as an investor in tech start-ups like Skype and Foursquare.
Moore’s camp claims that Kutcher is the cause of negotiations breaking down. “Ashton has been very difficult during the talks,” the source tells the Post. “You could even say he has been hostile.”
Since their split, Moore has attracted tabloid attention for erratic behavior, weight loss, and a stint in rehab. Kutcher reportedly has moved on romantically with his former ‘That “70s Show” co-star Mila Kunis.
Both stars have retained the services of prominent lawyers. Kutcher is represented by Laura Wassner, and Moore has obtained the services of New York lawyer William Beslow. Beslow recently won a major settlement for Linda Evangelista in her split with billionaire François-Henri Pinault.
Moore was spotted in New York on Monday night and she was reportedly in good spirits. “She is healthy and happy, and just wants to move on with her life,” claims the source.
