The messy divorce between Kelsey and Camille Grammer has entered the bedroom. Camille recently sent movers to retrieve her bed so Kelsey’s new wife Kayte would not sleep in it, according to the New York Post.
The confrontation began when the ‘Cheers’ star decided to move his new wife and baby back into the $16-million home he once shared with Camille. Once they arrived, he discovered movers sent by Camille waiting to strip the house of furniture, including the king-sized bed, the Post reports.
Kelsey reportedly became irate and ordered the movers to leave, but Camille’s assistant was also on the premises with a copy of the divorce settlement, which granted the furniture to his ex.
Camille told the New York Post, “It was in the settlement that I got the bed. He got everything he wanted, the whole book collection. But he was living somewhere else. He didn’t want the bedroom furniture. He never liked the bed. He gave it up. It was really his oversight.”
Camille has no immediate need for the bed that has stirred up so much controversy. The ex-“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star sleeps in a canopy bed in her current Malibu home, which is up for sale for $17.9 million. Although she will not use the old bed until moving to a smaller house, Camille raised a question for Kayte asking, “Wouldn’t she want her own furniture?”
There has been no response from Kelsey regarding the series of events. His rep responded, “We don’t talk about what Camille does or doesn’t do. We all have better things to do.”
