Bette Midler has touched our hearts once again. This time she did it off camera with a phone call to a fan dying of cancer.

Anna Greenberg was laying in a hospital bed, terminally ill, when she received a surprising call from Midler.

The Grammy Award winner thanked Greenberg for her support and celebrated the young woman’s courage. “You’re such an angel,” Midler told Greenberg, fighting through tears. “Such a wonderful soul.”

Anna met her celebrity idol in December at the premiere of Midler’s film, “Parental Guidance.” As her diagnosis began to take a turn for the worst, Anna was granted a very special wish. The “Beaches” star sang her iconic song “Wind Beneath My Wings” with her number-one fan over the phone.

Anna died just three days after the heartfelt exchange. She was 29 years old.  Watch the video of the touching phone call.
