Pierce Brosnan’s daughter Charlotte has died after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer, according to People magazine.

“On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer,” the James Bond actor wrote in a statement. “She was surrounded by her husband Alex, her children Isabella and Lucas and her brothers Christopher and Sean.”

“Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon,” Brosnan continues. “We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.”

Charlotte was nine years old when her mother began dating the famed actor. He adopted the child in 1986 after her father died.

Brosnan’s beloved daughter was 41 years old when she passed away in London. Sadly, her mother Cassandra Harris died of ovarian cancer in 1991. Cassandra had lost her own mother to the very same disease as a teenager.

“License To Kill” actor Robert Davi shared, “Been informed my friend Pierce Brosnan lost his daughter to an illness – my prayers go out to him and his family.”

Charlotte is survived by her husband Alex Smith, a 14-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son.
