Eva Longoria’s new boyfriend Ernesto Arguello has fallen on hard times. The 34-year-old entrepreneur filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and is more than $4 million in debt, according to records obtained by the National Enquirer.
Court documents allegedly detail Arguello’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing last year. Included was $4.1 million in debt compared to just $1,555 in total assets. In the filing, Arguello reportedly claimed to only have $5 cash to his name. Talk about being down on your luck.
Eva, who is worth an estimated $35 million, met Ernesto on the set of her reality dating show, “Ready for Love.” Just this week, they confirmed that their work relationship has blossomed into serious dating.
Longoria was previously married to NBA star Tony Parker. The two split in 2012 after three years of marriage when the 38-year-old actress reportedly discovered text messages from an old teammate’s wife, according to the New York Post.
The “Desperate Housewives” star is head over heels for her new man, Arguello. “Happy to share NOW that it’s true! Couldn’t be happier…” Longoria shared with her 6.3 million Twitter followers. Arguello responded, “Me too baby, I LOVE YOU.”
“I think that’s why our relationship is so special – we truly started as friends,” Longoria told People magazine. Neither of the two lovebirds has publicly commented on Arguello’s reported financial woes.
