She’s had a tumultuous ride on the fame train, but Britney Spears is fixin’ to score the biggest payday of her career, ya’ll.
According to a TMZ report, Spears will rake in around $30 million for her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, which begins in December. And while that might not seem like much cash in a world where Robert Downey Jr. pocketed $50 million for “Avengers,” consider that the 31-year-old songstress is only contracted to perform 48 shows a year.
That’s $310,000 per show.
The celebrity gossip site claims Spears will receive more than 60 percent of ticket sales, which are projected to be more than $508,000 per show.
While Britney’s payday is astounding, it pales in comparison to that of Celine Dion, who is in the midst of an eight-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The 45-year-old Canadian began her residency in 2011 with an initial three-year contract that called for 70 shows a year and a reported $476,000 per-show paycheck for Dion. In March, the singer extended her contract until 2019.
Another whopping Vegas contract belongs to ventriloquist Terry Fator, who won “America’s Got Talent” in 2007. Fator is at the tail-end of a five-year residency at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas, which netted the comic a reported $100 million.
Sure, it makes Britney’s deal look like peanuts – but he performs 200 shows per year.
