Elaborate prom proposals (or “prom-posals”) are the new fad amongst high school students across the country, but one teenager added a little star power to his proposition earlier this year.
Actor Skylar Gisondo, who plays Nick Daley in the new movie “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” enlisted the help of his movie dad Ben Stiller, as well as co-stars Crystal the Monkey and Robin Williams for a video prom-posal to his prospective date.
“All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas,” Gisondo, 18, told The Hollywood Reporter. “He was saying, ‘Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?’ You’re Robin Williams. You can say whatever you want! It turned into this three-minute, ridiculous thing.”
The video, which was shot months before Williams’ death and posted to YouTube in May, offers further evidence of the “Mrs. Doubtfire” actor’s generosity and wealth of comedic talent.
“Robin was this bottomless reservoir of kindness and hilarity,” Gisondo said. “It was just so special to work so closely with this guy whose movies I’ve grown up with and watch his preparedness and his kindness.”
Needless to say, Skylar got his prom date. Check out the video prom-posal below.
