Lap 258 (6:39pm ET): We’re in the home stretch at Las Vegas!

Lap 252 (6:27pm ET): Danica Patrick brings out the caution after an engine failure. It’s getting a little smokey on the track out in Las Vegas.

Lap 222 (6:16pm ET): Take a look at the points breakdown for today’s race. Kyle Larson with another strong showing. Maybe he can finally close out a victory today…

Lap 214 (6:10pm ET): Chase Elliott closing in on Martin Truex Jr. No. 24 smells blood in the water!

Lap 177 (5:51pm ET): Truex Jr. continues to roll at Las Vegas. This is starting to remind me of his dominating victory at Charlotte last season.

Lap 160 (5:38pm ET): Martin ‘T-Rex’ takes Segment 2 in dominating fashion. Drivers gear up for the final stage out in the desert.

Lap 152 (5:27pm ET): Derrike Cope hits the spin cycle and brings out the 4th caution flag of the day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Lap 128 (5:14pm ET): Kyle Busch knocked for speeding on pit road. Are we at Atlanta again?

Lap 120 (5:07pm ET): I’m not exactly sure what I’m looking at here, but I can get on board with ‘Martin T-Rex’ as a nickname for No. 78. As Samuel L. Jackson said in Jurassic Park, ‘hold onto your butts,’ as Segment 2 continues to heat up.

Lap 80 (4:45pm ET): Logano put his chips on the table by not pitting earlier in Stage 1, and the gamble certainly didn’t pay off.

Lap 80 (4:44pm ET): Martin Truex Jr. is your Stage 1 winner! It marks No. 78’s first stage victory in NASCAR’s new format. Larson, Blaney round out the top three.

Lap 70 (4:37pm ET): Thankfully, Kevin Harvick is OK. But apparently, some NASCAR fans are pretty happy to see No. 4 heading to the garage.

Lap 68 (4:31pm ET): Harvick into the wall! Busted tire derails Kevin’s day at Vegas and his bad luck carries over from Atlanta.

Lap 46 (4:26pm ET): Logano, Truex battling for position at Las Vegas. And when I say position, I mean bridesmaid to Brad Keselowski who continues to pace the field.

Lap 40 (4:15pm ET): Keselowski continues to dominate at Las Vegas. What else is new?

Lap 19 (3:59pm ET): Pretty accurate assessment of that Lajoie wreck. Sparks flying already out west.

Lap 18 (3:57pm ET): First caution of the day as Corey Lajoie gets into the wall. Took a gamble out in Vegas and paid the price.

Lap 1 (3:50pm ET): The green flag is officially out at ‘Sin City’. Let’s go racing!

Countdown to Green (3:45pm ET): From the octagon to the race track, everyone is ready to get the Kobalt 400 started.

Countdown to Green (3:40pm ET): Ladies and gentleman, it’s a racing revival. NASCAR’s fortunate son John Fogerty gives the command and we’re getting ready to roll from Las Vegas Motor Speedway!

The Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ three-race West Coast road trip begins with Sunday’s Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas. Pole-sitter Brad Keselowski enters the race at ‘Sin City’ as the prohibitive favorite, having won two out of the last three Cup Series races at LVMS. No. 2 is also coming off a surprise victory at Atlanta last weekend, where he stole the checkered flag from Kevin Harvick after a late-race penalty. Can Keselowski keep his hot streak alive? Or, will another driver emerge to capture the checkered flag in the desert? Catch all the action live on FOX, and check back here for highlights, updates, and live lap-by-lap analysis. The green flag is set to drop at 3:30pm ET.
