At a red carpet interview with Hong Kong’s Cable Entertainment News, Sharon Stone should have planted her foot firmly in her mouth. But she didn’t. Instead, the Tibetian activist actress shared with the network her idea that the Chinese earthquake may have possibly been the result of “bad karma,” a statement which is a serious no-no to the Chinese government. “And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, ‘Is that karma? When you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?'” As a result, head of a filmmaker federation, Ng See-Yuen, stated her comments were inappropriate and said he would ban her films from showing in the mainland. Next time, Sharon, just sit there and do what you do best: Look pretty and don’t say a word! [Us Weekly]
