News: Robert Downey Jr. Thanks Disgusting Cheeseburger At Burger King For His Rehabilitation

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. has said he thanks Burger King for getting him clean and sober. The Iron Man actor tells Britain’s Empire Magazine that once in 2003, he stopped at a Burger King fast food chain to purchase a burger during a drug binder on Pacific Coast Highway (Ed. Note: they don’t have Burger Kings on Pacific Coast Highway; I’m just sayin’). Apparently the burger was so disgusting that he made up his mind to get clean, and proceeded to throw his drugs into the ocean.

“I have to thank Burger King. It was such a disgusting burger I ordered. I had that, and this big soda, and I thought something really bad was going to happen.” He tells the magazine. The Burger King hamburger scene in the film Iron Man, when Downey’s character asks for a BK meal once he is rescued, is an homage to this flashback. [Showbiz Spy]
