Brendan Fraser stars as Mo Folchart, a role written for him by Cornelia Funke, the author of the popular children’s fantasy book series. Mo is a “silvertongue,” meaning he’s a man who can bring characters from books to life just by reading aloud. Using this gift obliviously, however, has created some very serious problems for his family and for one of the characters he’s read to life, a fire artist named Dustfinger (Paul Bettany).

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
The third installment in this franchise is a prequel that details the beginnings of the war between the vampires and the werewolves, and it is also now sans Kate Beckinsale. Instead, we’ve got the always sultry Rhona Mitra stepping into the tightly-clothed vampire role, as Frost/Nixon’s Michael Sheen returns to a role vastly different from an airy talk show host: the lycanthrope revolutionary Lucian, rebelling against evil vampire overlord Bill Nighy.

Ron Howard’s latest Best Picture candidate reaches theaters everywhere, detailing the famous battle of wits between the aforementioned airy talk show host David Frost (Michael Sheen) and the disgraced former president Richard Milhous Nixon (Frank Langella, in an Oscar-nominated performance) in a long set of televised interviews a mere three years after Nixon had resigned from office.

Expanding wide is Kate Winslet’s Golden Globe winning performance alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as a suburban couple who both feel trapped in lives that they never wanted. To fight their malaise, they plan to escape their situation by moving to Paris and changing their entire way of life – but it’s not easy to leave behind such a comfortable prison. Michael Shannon earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as the disturbed son of their neighbor (Kathy Bates), the only one who is unafraid to tear their charades apart.
