You’ve Got B.O.: “Taken” Takes All

Liam Neeson and his particular set of skills that makes him a nightmare for bad guys who kidnap his daughter were enough for Taken to take the box office crown this weekend, leaving his competitors in the dust and finally knocking Paul Blart off the the throne. Renee Zellweger’s frozen tundra rom-com effort New in Town, however, was given a very chilly reception, landing at #8 with less than $7 million.

1. Taken – $24.5m
2. Paul Blart: Mall Cop – $14m
3. The Uninvited – $10.5m
4. Hotel for Dogs – $8.7m
5. Gran Torino – $8.6m
6. Slumdog Millionaire – $7.6m
7. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans – $7.2m
8. New in Town – $6.7m
9. My Bloody Valentine 3D – $4.2m
10. Inkheart – $3.7m
