Michael Cera Ends Holdout, Signs To ‘Arrested Development’ Movie

Attention Arrested Development fans. There’s good news. Michael Cera has signed on for the feature film adaptation of the cult-favorite TV series. Last December, Fancast spoke to series creator Mitch Hurwitz and reported that Cera was the lone holdout among regulars.

But that changed today. “Inside sources close to the negotiations of the upcoming Arrested Development movie tell me that Superbad and Juno star (and before that, hello, George-Michael Bluth!) has finally agreed to do the feature film project,” reports Eonline‘s stellar TV news breaker Kristin Dos Santos.

Hurwitz has been hunkered down writing the script. Ron Howard, who is thought to be directing the project, confirmed to Ryan Seacrest on the Oscar red carpet that the movie had indeed received a green light. “It’s looking very much like we’re going to make [the movie], but we’ve now been asked to stop offering any details,” he said. “It’s cloaked in a little mystery, but it’s looking good.”
