Redmond O’Neal was released from prison for three hours over the weekend to visit his mother, Farrah Fawcett, who is currently battling cancer.
“A sergeant and a deputy drove him to his mother’s home [Saturday] and he’s now back in custody,” said an L.A. County Sheriff’s spokesman to People. He added that such visits are allowed for inmates when they are dealing with “the gravely ill, to attend a funeral, or similar emergencies.”
However, a family spokesperson insisted that “nothing should be read into the timing of Redmond’s visit,” and that Fawcett is still in stable condition.
Redmond is currently facing jail time for a parole violation stemming from his DUI and drug arrest. He is set to receive additional drug treatment.
His mother, Farrah Fawcett was released from the hospital on April 9th after being treated for bleeding resulting from a medical procedure in Germany.
