HBO Tackles New Orleans, TV May Push Kids’ Sexual Activity, Seth Green Gets More Robots, And More

New Orleans Through Their Eyes: HBO is developing a new series focusing on post-Katrina New Orleans. ‘Treme’, produced by ‘The Wire’s’ David Simon, will follow the re-building of the city through the eyes of one of the most influential groups in the area – musicians. Wendell Pierce, Steve Zahn, Clarke Peters, Khandi Alexander, Melissa Leo, Kim Dickens and Rob Brown have been cast in the series.

Blame Teen Sex on TV? A new study suggests that TV may push kids into earlier sexual activity. A Children’s Hospital of Boston study found that amount of racy content watched as a child may relate to the amount of sexual activity as a teen. “Television and movies are among the leading sources of information about sex and relationships for adolescents,” said an author of the investigation. No direct correlation, however, should be implied – merely a relationship between both factors.

Another Adult Robot: Seth Green has snagged another animated series on Adult Swim, ‘Titan Maximum,’ which hopes to follow the success of Green’s other highly rated series, ‘Robot Chicken. The show, which follows a young army squadron guarding Saturn’s moon, will premiere in September.

SNL Takes On Notorious Food Critic: SNL alum Julia Sweeney (“They call her Pat!”) has signed on to write a new series following the life of infamous food critic Gael Greene. Green is one of New York’s most famous and old school food critics, wearing floppy hats to hide her identity and sleeping with famous men. She chronicled her life and work in the blockbuster book ‘Insatiable: Tales from a Life of Delicious Excess.’
