Brooke Shields‘ Mother, Teri Shields, 75, was checked out of her New Jersey nursing home by two reporters. She suffers from Dementia.
The National Enquirer reporters apparently pretended to be Mrs. Shield’s friends, and left the nursing home with her in tow. They then drove around the city and ended at a restaurant close to the home wher they proceeded to question her for a story.
The younger Shields was phoned by local police and alerted as to the situation. No arrests have been made but an investigation is being carried out.
“I intend to take every lawful action against all who were involved or who authorized this despicable act,” said Brooke Shields in a statement to People magazine, adding “As anyone knows who has a parent who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s, it is one of the most difficult experiences you can go through as a son or daughter. The idea that the National Enquirer took advantage of her state is reprehensible and disgusting.”
