With Al Bundy Returning To TV, David Faustino Reflects On The Family That Started It All

ABC’s new fall lineup includes several family-centric series, including ‘The Middle,’ ‘Hank,’ – and ‘Modern Family,’ a show that brings Ed O’Neil, of ‘Married With Children‘ fame, back to a TV wife and kids.

David Faustino, who played Ed’s son – the lovable brat Bud Bundy – on ‘Married,’ talked to us about the influence that the show has had over the years, particularly on animated family comedies. “I’d say some of the cartoons that are on. ‘Family Guy’ and ‘The Simpsons’ for sure, those kinds of shows. ‘Married With Children’ obviously broke the mold and definitely for that time it was really hard hitting and shocking,” he told us at the Race to Erase MS red carpet in Los Angeles last week. “And you can still find some jokes in there that are like wow. It definitely opened the doors for new show. It’s tame in comparison to what’s out now.”

Will we be seeing him on television any time soon? Perhaps, thanks to his new web series, ‘Star-ving,’ which he’s currently pitching to networks. “It’s a really sick, twisted comedy about my life. It’s called Star-ving and it’s basically ten years after ‘Married With Children.’ It’s not cliché because it’s super R rated. There’s some man ass in it,” he jokes.
