Mackenzie Phillips, Heidi Fleiss, Dennis Rodman Check in to ‘Celebrity Rehab 3’

Mackenzie Phillips is still taking it ‘One Day at a Time.’

The former child star and several other familiar faces have been announced as the newest recruits for VH1’s infamous ‘Celebrity Rehab.’

Season 3 of the addictive reality show will also feature Hollywood madame Heidi Fleiss, sports star and ‘Celebrity Apprentice‘ contestant Dennis Rodman, country singer Mindy McCready, Real Worlder Joey Kovar, Lisa D’Amato of ‘America’s Next Top Model,’ former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche and musician Mike Starr (Alice in Chains).

Since the excesses of Hollywood provide a breeding ground for drug and alcohol abuse, we’re sure there were plenty of other troubled stars to choose from to create the cast of the new season, so just how VH1 chose this particular bunch–or why they agreed–we may never know.

But what other famous folks would be well served by checking into Dr. Drew Pinsky’s 21-day rehab program for the stars?

These are our top picks. What are yours?

Jodie Sweetin: She was America’s sweetheart during her time as Stephanie Tanner on ‘Full House.’ But it all went downhill for the actress once the cameras stopped rolling–she developed a dangerous methamphetamine addiction, which caused Sweetin’s marriage to sour. She’s currently penning a book about her troubles, ‘unSweetined,’ due out in October 2009.

David Hasselhoff: The ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Knight Rider’ star has a long history of alcohol abuse, culminating in the infamous 2007 home video that his 16-year-old daughter took of the actor rolling around on the floor while struggling to…eat a cheeseburger. In May of this year, the ‘America’s Got Talent‘ judge was rushed to the hospital, and Radar reported that it had been due to alcohol poisoning–although his reps denied it.

The eight, one-hour episodes of ‘Celebrity Rehab’ are scheduled to air in early 2010.
