Arnold Schwarzenegger has been the star of some of the funniest unintentional comedies of all time, but one of his action movies that remains an awesome classic is John McTiernan’s Predator. Coming off the Governator’s surprisingly well-done ‘cameo’ in Terminator: Salvation, it makes perfect sense that Robert Rodriguez has reached out to him about making a small appearance in his planned sequel, entitled simply Predators. Of course, trying to pull the bankrupt state of California out of its downturn is monopolizing Arnold’s time, so there’s been no response to the offer, but Rodriguez apparently has a role written for his character of Dutch Schaefer, the lone survivor of the Predator’s first rampage on Earth – one that claimed Jesse Ventura, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke and Sonny Landham.
So will he accept? He apparently turned down the chance to cameo as Dutch in 1990’s Predator 2, but times have most certainly changed in the 19 years since, and word has it the new script is a damn sight better. So maybe Arnold will finally “get to da choppah” and “do it! do it now!”
