Anthony Bourdain, host of the Travel Channel’s ‘No Reservations,’ and the man behind ‘Kitchen Confidential,’ had harsh words for A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow and audiences of the Food Network.
The celebrity chef and author, who is also a frequent guest star on ‘Top Chef,’ joined fellow foodie Mario Batali for a panel in Seattle’s Paramount theater over the weekend.
Bourdain was quick to poke fun at Batali’s PBS series, ‘Spain… On the Road Again,’ which features the chef and Gwyneth Paltrow on a culinary tour of Spain – but he had a bone to pick with Batali’s A-list co-star. “Why would you go to Spain with the one bitch who refuses to eat ham?” The Seattle Weekly reports Bourdain asked about Paltrow. (Paltrow has infamously stated that she follows a strict macrobiotic diet, and did not partake in eating meat during the series).
And what does he think of the loyal fans over at Batali’s original home network? “The people who watch the Food Network,” he said, “are the ones with a gallon of soda and a bag of Cheetos going, ‘oh, I could make that.'”
Batali and Bourdain are close friends, and are rumored to be developing a new Travel Channel series, created by the folks behind ‘Planet Earth.’
