Tuned In: What’s Hot In The World Of TV

USA Network has another big hit on its hands with the success of the new comedy ‘Royal Pains.’ The Mark Feuerstein-starring freshman show has climbed in the ratings every week since its June 4th premiere, hitting a series high of 6.5 million viewers last Thursday. This was an even bigger audience than its lead-in (the also hugely popular ‘Burn Notice,’ which pulled in 5.8 million viewers.) With ‘Monk‘ getting a big long in the tooth, it’s a feather in USA’s cap to have pulled off yet another character-driven success story.

Sunday Highlights:

Denise Richards: It’s Complicated
Yes, I am watching this show, and no I don’t really know why. Strike that, I do know why, it’s because I NEVER get tired of seeing Ms. Richards make herself look like a complete ass on TV. On last night’s show, Denise went on a series of blind dates (which were of course utter failures, including a guy that could actually be more vain than DR herself). Watch a clip of Mr. Vain and Ms. Vain on their date below. But the true highlight was her trainer Tony popping up again and proposing (ala ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding) that he and Denise should be together next Valentine’s Day if they’re both still single. Ewww! This guy is creepy and makes sexual innuendo seemingly non-stop while training Denise at the gym… This guy needs to go away, stat.
