Fancast Trivia Challenge – Official Rules

Fancast Trivia Challenge
Official Rules

The Fancast Trivia Challenge (the “Challenge”) will take place each Tuesday from June 23, 2009 to August 11, 2009(each, a “Challenge Period”). For the purposes of these Official Rules, each Challenge Period will begin at 12:01 AM ET on Tuesday or when the first question is posted on that Tuesday, whichever is sooner, and will end at 8:00 PM ET on that Tuesday, or whenever an entrant answers all questions for that Tuesday correctly and gets the maximum number of points, whichever is sooner, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Entrants will only be permitted to receive points for trivia questions posted and answered during the applicable Challenge Period.

ELIGIBILITY: The Challenge is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 13 years of age or older. An eligible minor should obtain his/her parent’s or legal guardian’s permission prior to participating in this Challenge. Employees of Comcast Interactive Media LLC (“Sponsor”), Twitter, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse, parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law. Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

HOW TO ENTER: During each Challenge Period, 5-20 questions will be posted on (the “Website”) throughout the day. To enter, visit the Website to view the trivia questions; then, visit and follow the directions provided to tweet the answer to the trivia question. You must include the question number and #triviatues on your post. Clues for answers to select trivia questions for each Tuesday will be provided as clips available on the Website. You must be a registered member of Twitter to participate. Registration is free. You must tweet all your answer(s) to the question(s) posted for the applicable Challenge Period by 8:00 PM ET on that Tuesday to be entered. Misspelled answers will be disqualified and will not earn an entrant any points. Sponsor will determine whether an answer is correct, in its sole discretion. Tweets generated by script, macro or other automated means and tweets by any means which subvert the entry process are void. All answers become the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Entry into the Challenge constitutes your (and, if an eligible minor, your parent’s or legal guardian’s) consent for Sponsor to obtain, use and transfer your name, email address and other details solely for the purposes of and as required to administer this Challenge.

WINNER DETERMINATION: The first entrant who successfully tweets the right answer to a trivia question, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will earn one (1) point for that trivia question. The entrant who receives the highest number of points for the applicable Challenge Period, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed the “Grand Prize winner” for that Challenge Period. In the event of a tie, the first entrant who reached that number of points first, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will receive a prize for that Challenge Period. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Challenge, including, without limitation, whether a question has been answered correctly.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Each potential winner will be notified by telephone, mail or e-mail and may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law) and any other documents required by Sponsor, which must be returned within five (5) days of date appearing on prize notification. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Sponsor to contact potential winner within a reasonable time period, or noncompliance with these Official Rules by the potential winner will result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up for the Challenge Period at issue. If potential winner is an eligible minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for fulfilling all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein, including completing all required documentation on his/her child’s behalf.
