‘Wild’ Show Helps Lost Boy

It may not be too far a reach to say that TV saved 9-year-old Grayson Wynne’s life.

Wynne, who was separated from his family in the Ashley National Forest in northern Utah over the weekend, remembered what he had learned from his favorite TV show – the Discovery Channel’s ‘Man vs. Wild.’

When he realized that he was lost, the boy started tearing up his poncho and tying the yellow slivers to trees – despite the fact that it was raining at times.

“I just used my hands,” Grayson told the Associated Press, “I don’t know how many times I tore the thing but quite a lot.”

After spending the night alone in the forest, Grayson was found safe Sunday. He spent the night under under a fallen tree and in the morning he decided to follow a creek as far as he could.

Two searchers on horseback found him after 18 hours alone.

“It was such a good feeling that I was going to be all right,” Grayson said.
