Karl Malden Dies at 97

Oscar winner Karl Malden died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 97, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Malden won the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1952 for his role in the film, ‘A Street Car Named Desire.’ He was nominated again three years later for his re-teaming with Marlon Brando in another classic, ‘On the Waterfront.’

Malden may be best known by television audiences as Detective Lt. Mike Stone in the 1970’s series ‘The Streets of San Francisco,’ co-starring a young Michael Douglas.
