Always one to speak her mind–and occasionally stick her foot in her mouth–Katherine Heigl may have done it again.
While she claims to be glad she’s back on the ABC hit that made her a star, there appears to be some underlying tension and sarcasm in the actress’ voice as she discusses her future on the show.
Here’s what she had to say about the various fates of her alter ego, Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens:
“You last saw Izzie flat-lining, so…I’m either there as a ghost ‘on the other side,’ or I survived a disease [stage IV metastatic melanoma] no one survives.” She also postulated that she could still be in a coma. “They could do that,” she said.

It was a surprise to learn that the blossoming movie star was returning to the series, after her fate was left up in the air in May.
With the ‘Grey’s’ cast snubbed by the Emmys and now back at work, Heigl admits it’s “bizarre” on the set without costar T.R. Knight, whose character George O’Malley had a gruesome fatal accident in the season finale.
For a change of pace, watch Heigl in the movie, ‘27 Dresses.’
