New details have emerged in the fatal overdose of Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein last Friday in New York City.

The investigation into the celebrity deejay’s death found that Goldstein had eight undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach and a ninth pill in his mouth, according to an exclusive report by People.

The finding suggests he swallowed the painkillers quickly, leading to speculation that Goldstein may have committed suicide.

“He wanted to die,” says the source. “He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn’t even swallow it.”

Additional evidence supports the theory: two mirrors were propped up to block the doors to the apartment and to his bedroom. DJ AM was also found with a crack pipe next to his body, as well as a love letter from his ex-girlfriend Haley Wood, from whom he recently split.

Official autopsy results have not been released.

A memorial will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Hollywood Palladium at 7 p.m., “formatted in the style of an open 12-step meeting.”
