It’s been a weird year for the number 9. Tomorrow is 9-9-09, when we have 9 being released – along with Rock Band: Beatles, and we know that particular musical ensemble enjoyed the number 9 on numerous occasions. Earlier this year, we had the films $9.99 and District 9. When Oscar season is in full swing, we’ll also have Academy-Award nominated director Rob Marshall (Chicago) bringing us Nine, a musical adaptation of Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2 starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Fergie and Penelope Cruz, who you can see here in the photo below going all out with song and dance. It’s the story of a famed Italian film director Guido Contini (Day-Lewis), who struggles to find happiness, contentment and the meaning of life while trying to balance the demands and needs of all the women that define him, one of them being his mistress Carla (Cruz).
