Limited: Coens’ ‘A Serious Man,’ LeBron James in ‘More Than A Game’

Here’s what’s opening in selected cities, and as David Letterman often says, “we just pray to God your city has been selected.” Belovedly odd filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen are back with A Serious Man, and we get a closer look at the childhood adventures of LeBron James and the roots of his rise to basketball superstardom in More Than a Game.

The Coen Brothers follow-up to their star-studded hit Burn After Reading is this starless black comedy about Larry Gopnik (Tony-nominated Michael Stuhlbarg), a Midwestern Jewish physics professor whose serious life seriously begins to unravel when his long marriage suddenly ends with his wife leaving him for a pompous colleague, his annoying brother refuses to move out of his house, his kids act out and steal from him, an ambitious grad student tries to bribe and sue him at the same time, and someone he doesn’t know threatening him mysteriously.
