George Stephanopoulos may take Diane Sawyer’s spot on ‘Good Morning America.’
“We’re at the beginning of a process that we said was going to take a couple of months, and we’re just about a third-of-the-way through it,” says ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider about finding a replacement anchor on the show.
The former Clinton staffer is trying out for the position this week while Sawyer is out.
Sawyer is leaving in January to take over for Charlie Gibson on ‘World News.’
, ABC News correspondent David Mu, and ‘Dancing With the Stars’ host Tom Bergeron have all been named as other possible replacements.
