Here’s what’s opening in selected cities this weekend, and as David Letterman often says, we just pray to God your city has been selected. Along with the annual re-release of the Disney 3-D version of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, we have Uma Thurman’s return in Motherhood, Tony Jaa’s return in Ong-Bak 2: The Beginning, and Lars Von Trier’s return to disturbing form with Antichrist.

Uma Thurman is a harried urban mother of two who is struggling against all sorts of problems to prepare for her daughter’s sixth birthday party, and in the process she rediscovers the voice she used to have as a writer.

Tim Burton’s stop-motion animation holiday classic gets its annual re-release in Disney 3-D just in time for Halloween, so you can watch Jack Skellington try to take over Christmas once again.

Also opening in limited release is Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist, a disturbing story about the violent degeneration of a marriage after their young son dies in a tragic accident.
