With Charlie Gibson stepping down from ‘World News’ Dec. 18 and Diane Sawyer jumping on board the following week, speculation has begun as to who might be replacing Sawyer on ‘Good Morning America.’

‘GMA’ will lose Sawyer at the end of next week, according to the Los Angeles Times, but ABC is keeping quiet when it comes to a morning replacement.

“ABC management made it crystal clear that the process would take four months and we are about three-fourths of the way through that process,” a network spokesman said.

Chris Cuomo, the current ‘GMA’ news anchor, is one possibility, although many speculate ‘This Week’ anchor George Stephanopoulos will takeover the seat held by Sawyer for a decade.
