Limited: Up In The Air, Serious Moonlight, The Strip

Here’s what’s opening in selected cities this weekend, and as David Letterman always says, we just pray to God your city has been selected. We’ve got the much-anticipated George Clooney dramedy Up In The Air, Cheryl Hines’ directorial debut starring Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell and Justin Long called Serious Moonlight, from a script by Adrienne Shelly, the creative force behind the 2007 indie favorite Waitress. Then there’s the Dave Foley comedy The Strip, about strip-mall employees in a floundering electronics store.

Cheryl Hines makes her directorial debut with an odd romantic comedy screenplay from Adrienne Shelly, her late friend from Waitress. It tells the story of Louise (Meg Ryan), a headstrong woman who happens upon her husband Ian (Timothy Hutton) and his affair with Sara (Kristen Bell) and proceeds to go to incredible lengths in her stubborn refusal to be left by him.
