CBS Urges Men to Give a Special Gift This Year



While viewers grapple with the choice to skip commercials on a DVR, CBS is hoping its latest spots will grab your attention, especially if you’re a husband wanting to give your wife a Pap smear.

That’s right, CBS is using the traditional public service announcement and injecting it with some humor this holiday season, offensive or not, reports the New York Daily News.

“In the case of Pap smears, we knew in order to communicate more effectively, there was a possibility that some viewers — and it’s a real minority — might be offended,” said a network executive.

Bloggers are all over this new campaign, although it isn’t that different from last year’s equally amusing prostate exam public service ads.
