Comcast On Demand today premieres big-time summer blockbusters Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince as well as the director’s cut of Terminator: Salvation. There’s also the 60s comedy Taking Woodstock. Take a closer look below.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
The sixth installment of the venerable kid-wizard franchise shows that the villainous Voldemort’s ominous power is ever-strengthening, which forces Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore to call upon Harry once again to aid him in the struggle to save the world at great cost to himself, while love begins to abound between students at the academy.
Terminator: Salvation (Director’s Cut)
McG jumpstarts the Terminator franchise by finally showing us the catastrophic war against the self-aware artificial intelligence Skynet and its army of robotic monsters out to exterminate humanity. Christian Bale steps into the role of the adult John Connor, who strives to inspire mankind’s pockets of resistance to fight the good fight against all odds. When the mysterious Marcus (Sam Worthington) is set loose from a Skynet prison farm, seemingly a refugee from the past, the secrets he carries will sow paranoia and distrust among the ramshackle army. Adding to the desperation is the fact that Skynet has it in for the teenaged Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin), who will eventually grow up to be sent back in time to be John’s father – meaning he must be rescued, or else John’s very existence is threatened. This is exactly where this series needed to go.
Demetri Martin stars as a struggling resort owner who stumbles his way into hosting the biggest and most influential musical concert event of the 20th century. Also starring Imelda Staunton, Eugene Levy, Liev Schreiber, Dan Fogler, Paul Dano, Kelli Garner and Emile Hirsch.
