Both ABC and Fox are amping up the wattage of stars on hand as they prepare to bid the decade adieu with TV specials.
ABC has tapped Jennifer Lopez to perform on its annual ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ special, based out of Times Square. A native New Yorker, “Jenny from the Block” will presumably don a pair of “Louboutins” as she serves up a seven-minute medley of her greatest hits, UsMagazine.com reports.
Also on board for ABC’s abundance of revelry: Former ‘Dancing’ star and ‘Good Morning America’ contributor Melissa Rycroft will serve as the event’s official Times Square correspondent.
Fox meanwhile has enlisted Eva Longoria Parker to appear on its ‘Billboard’s New Year’s Eve Live’ special. There, the ‘Desperate’ Housewife will take viewers inside the grand opening of her new Las Vegas steakhouse, Beso, and the nightclub Eve.
ABC’s ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ is hosted by Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest, and will also feature musical performances by The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Beiber and Robin Thicke.
Fox’s ‘New Year’s Eve Live’ will be hosted by Carmen Electra and feature musical numbers by ‘American Idol‘ champ Kris Allen, ‘Idol’ runner-up Allison Iraheta, and Sean Kingston.
