Tyra Banks really does think she is Oprah. Just as Winfrey did last month, Banks has unexpectedly announced that she is ending her own daytime talk show.
“This will be the last season of ‘The Tyra Show,’” Banks told People.com, referring to the current cycle set to conclude in spring 2010.
Reflecting on the Emmy-winning talker’s run, Banks said, “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past five years.”
Banks is turning her focus to the launch of her New York-based production house, Bankable Studios. With the encouragement of peers such as Winfrey and Tyler Perry, Banks hopes to develop films that exhibit positive images of women.
Banks will also continue on as host and producer of The CW’s ‘America’s Next Top Model,’ which launches its 15th season in February.
