On Sunday, Food Network stars are getting political.
Tonight’s two-hour ‘Iron Chef America‘ episode will feature First Lady Michelle Obama, along with White House executive chef, Cristeta Comerford.
The show’s Super Chefs, Mario Batali, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse, meet up with Mrs. Obama to serve up the best meal they can using any fruit or vegetable from the White House garden.
They will compete against Comeford, who has been cooking in the White House for 14 years.
Three judges will then decide which dish is the tastiest.
“It’s doing something fresh and doing something seasonal that every average and regular American can do in their home,” Comerford explains in a preview.
The First Lady has been an advocate of safe and healthy foods. She has supported the use of more fresh and nutritious foods in the USDA’s Child Nutrition programs, community gardening, and a reduction of diet-related disease.
